Wi-Fi Acceptable Use Policy
Updated September 18, 2026 · Strata Plan BCS3625 · Woodwards W32
Using Woodwards Wi-Fi
Common-area Woodwards Wi-Fi is provided by the strata for residents and their invited guests. Everyone using this Wi-Fi must follow these expectations to help keep the shared service safe and available.
This policy applies to common-area Wi-Fi. It does not govern the internet connection supplied to individual suites.
Your account and devices
- Sign in with your own resident or guest account. Keep your password private and do not use someone else’s credentials.
- Residents should invite guests using the guest account feature instead of sharing their own login.
- Keep your devices updated and reasonably secured. Report a suspected compromised account or device to your host or building management.
- Use shared capacity considerately and cooperate with requests to resolve activity that materially disrupts other users. High traffic volume alone does not establish misuse.
Prohibited activities
Do not use the Wi-Fi to:
- Carry out unlawful activities, including fraud, unlawful threats or harassment, or infringement of others’ intellectual-property rights.
- Access another person’s accounts, devices, communications or data without permission, or bypass access controls.
- Attack or test systems without authorization, deliberately overload services, or interfere with other users’ connections.
- Distribute malware, send spam, or impersonate others for fraud or abuse.
- Tamper with building network equipment or deliberately defeat measures protecting the Wi-Fi service.
Security and availability
Wi-Fi is a shared service. Speed, coverage and availability can vary, and network protections cannot prevent every threat. Use secure websites and applications, keep your devices protected, and arrange an alternative connection if uninterrupted access is essential.
If a device or account is causing a security threat or disruption, authorized operators may take necessary, proportionate steps to protect the Wi-Fi, including temporarily restricting the affected Wi-Fi access. Where practical, the user will be told about the issue and given an opportunity to resolve it. Urgent protective action should be reviewed promptly.
A complaint or network address alone does not establish who was responsible. Contact building management if you believe a restriction is mistaken or need help restoring access. This policy does not authorize automatic fines, charges or restrictions on a suite’s internet connection. Any formal strata enforcement must have a lawful basis and follow applicable bylaws, rules and procedures.
Privacy and help
The Privacy Policy explains what account and connection information is collected, how it is used, and how long it is kept. This policy does not expand monitoring or authorize unrestricted disclosure of information.
Guests can ask their host for account help. Contact building management for Wi-Fi problems or to report misuse. Privacy questions can be sent to the Strata Privacy Officer at privacy@w32.ca.
Updates will be published here with a revised date. Material changes will be brought to users’ attention through the Wi-Fi sign-in process or another appropriate notice.
